What is CPM uplift?
CPM uplift is how much higher your average CPM is with header bidding than it was with a waterfall. It is the number that justifies, or questions, the latency and complexity of adding bidders.
Worked example
If CPM with header bidding is $3.1 and CPM before (waterfall) is $2.4, then CPM uplift = 29.17%.
CPM uplift = ((CPM with HB − CPM before) ÷ CPM before) × 100

Tactical application guide
CPM uplift compares CPM with header bidding with CPM before (waterfall). Set a target CPM uplift and a known CPM before (waterfall) to find the CPM with header bidding you need to clear the bar, or enter the CPM with header bidding you expect with the CPM uplift you require to find the most you can afford to spend. A target of 0% gives your exact break-even point.
