What is RPM?
RPM is the ad revenue you earn for every thousand pageviews. It is the publisher's headline yield metric because it captures fill, price and ad density in one number tied to your actual traffic.
Worked example
If ad revenue is $2,400 and pageviews is 600,000, then RPM = $4.00.
RPM = (Ad revenue ÷ Pageviews) × 1000

Tactical application guide
RPM links ad revenue and pageviews in a fixed ratio, so any two pin down the third. Planning backwards is where it earns its keep: enter the ad revenue you have and the RPM you are targeting, and the solver tells you the pageviews you must secure. Or lock pageviews and RPM from a benchmark to see the ad revenue that plan implies before you commit.
