What is ACoS?
ACoS is ad spend as a percentage of the sales those ads drove, the standard metric on retail media like Amazon Ads. It is the inverse of ROAS: a 20% ACoS is a 5x ROAS.
Worked example
If ad spend is $5,000 and attributed sales is $25,000, then ACoS = 20.00%.
ACoS = (Ad spend ÷ Attributed sales) × 100

Tactical application guide
ACoS links ad spend and attributed sales in a fixed ratio, so any two pin down the third. Planning backwards is where it earns its keep: enter the ad spend you have and the ACoS you are targeting, and the solver tells you the attributed sales you must secure. Or lock attributed sales and ACoS from a benchmark to see the ad spend that plan implies before you commit.
